‘We have 10 finals’ – Guardiola on the Manchester City race for Champions League qualification

Manchester City Football Club manager Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola admits that his side of Manchester City has “10 finals” if they are eligible for the Champions League next season.

Speaking after the 1-0 defeat of City to top-four Rivals Nottingham Forest on Saturday, Guardiola said that his team should start winning competitions if they are contrary to qualifying for the European Elite Club competition.

With 10 more league games to play, City is currently in fourth place, only one point for Chelsea and Brighton and four points behind Forest.

The city boss believed that his team dominated the match against the Nuno Espirito Santo team, but said that the wasting possession took its side.

“It was a tight game. We have checked the transitions really well. We have not created many opportunities, but really defended well, “Guardiola told TNT Sports.

“But in the end we lost one transition, we lost the easy ball and they score.

“They defended very well and we couldn’t find the precise [finish] In the last minute.

“We have 10 games to be eligible, you have to win games to qualify [for the Champions League]. And we go to the next one. “

Guardiola also believes that the competition becomes more competitive every year and recognizes the task that his players have between now and the end of the season.

“We knew before we arrived that the Premier League is better and better every season,” Guardiola added.

“We have 10 finals and the next one we start.”

City is the next one in action when they organize Brighton on Saturday.
