The regular season of 2024-25 is rapidly approaching. Due to 74 games, the Celtics are 55-19, the second only for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
On Monday the Celtics are on the road to face the Memphis Grizzlies. Jayson Tatum van Boston played this season in 67 of their 74 games. Collin Cowherd recently went on a tirade about load management in the NBA. Cowherd, however, praised Tatum because this season he was the ‘heart rate’ of the NBA.

Sport Media Personality Collin Cowherd shared his thoughts about the biggest problem of the NBA, Load Management. First he said how other large professional sports competitions made adjustments along the way. Their greatest care was concussion for the NFL. This was a major problem in the 60s, 70s and 80s to billions of dollars were used to improve the game. New rules were also invented to help the safety of players.
Cowherd also called the problem of baseball with steroids in the late 90s. Just like the NFL, the MLB closed a blind for the striking issue in their game. Eventually steroids were banned from the MLB and that is no longer a widespread dilemma. Collin Cowherd explained how the biggest complication of the NBA loading management is. He said how star players treat the regular season as a “suggestion” and not “required”.
The competition has tried to implement a minimum of 65 games for players to be eligible for prizes at the end of the season. Cowherd called that movement a “bandaid on a broken leg.” Loading management is a serious care in the NBA and that issue is not going away. Cowherd, however, used Boston’s Jayson Tatum as the first example of someone who does not abuse a load of management. Tatum played in 67 of the 74 games of the Celtics. He only missed seven games this season and is immediately available every evening. If more players like Tatum wanted to be, Load Management would not be a widespread problem around the NBA.
