Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White

Tottenham set their sights on Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest while continuing to strengthen Thomas Frank’s team prior to the new campaign.

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has attracted the attention of various top clubs with his performances in recent seasons, and Spurs now wants to convince him to make the switch to North London.

Gibbs-White came to Forest Van Wolves in August 2022 for a deal with a value of a maximum of £ 42.5 million, including add-ons.

Since then he has established himself as one of the striking talents of the Premier League and has earned international recognition with England. His contract to the city runs until June 2027.

It is believed that he has a £ 60 million release clause that has been established to activate Spurs, with the player going on a medical on Friday.

Frank, who was appointed as Spurs boss earlier this summer, is known as a long-term admirer of the playmaker and sees him as an important addition that can thrive under his system.

Gibbs-White would also give a move to Tottenham the opportunity to compete in the Champions League next season-IS that Forest cannot offer despite their strong competition.

Forest, however, probably looks in the Europa League next season instead of Crystal Palace, which can be removed because of problems with multiple property with Lyon, who also qualified for the competition.

Although Manchester City had previously considered a step for the English midfielder, they eventually chose to follow deals for Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders instead.

Gibbs-White played an important role in the success of Forest last season, scored seven goals and it provided ten assists to help the club as seventh in the Premier League and to secure a place in the Conference League.

He also occasionally worn the bracelet of the captain and has registered a total of 18 goals and 28 assists in 118 performances since he came to the club.

Spurs have already been active in the transfer market, which sealed a relocation of £ 55 million for Mohammed Kudus from West Ham and brought in Japanese defender Kota Takai.

Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso have also become a member of permanent deals after loan spells.

Tottenham’s Europa League -final victory over Manchester United has assured their place in the Champions League for the coming season.
