In just 13 years old, Melanie Doggett makes waves in the track and field world.
The young sprinter recently cemented its place in history by breaking a big record on the prestigious Millrose games, with its unmistakable talent and speed. If you’ve never heard of her, this is the time to become familiar – because this rising star has just begun!
Earlier this month, Doggett sealed its own world record in the 60-meter dashboard, through the finish in an amazing 7.17 seconds by flaring the finish line.
Her performance was not only fast – it placed her in the same competition as high school, collegial and even professional athletes. In fact, only three collegial women clocked faster this season, making this an unprecedented performance for an eighth class.

Coming from Atlanta, Doggett trains with Major Impact Track Club and represents Landmark Christian School. Her impressive technology and rough speed have already attracted the attention of important figures in sport.
About a recent episode of the Ready set, Podcast, former American track stars Justin Gatlin and Rodney Green could not stop enthusiastically about her mechanics and acceleration.
Gatlin noted: ‘Hair [Melanie] Movement, I mean, when she had two steps lower, everyone already had a step. ‘
Despite her breathtaking versions, Doggett remains humble and grounded. After a strong show at the National Elite final, she praised her fellow competitors and said: “The girls were really sweet and they did well,” she said in an interview after her 100-meter race at the National Elite Final.
The same humility was clear last year when she set her first world record in just 12 years old. “I did nothing special,” Doggett said about her record of the World Time Group in an interview. “I just pushed.”
Doggett runs for Major Impact Track Club.
