Sanctioned ‘Chicken Jockey’ Chaos at ‘A Minecraft Movie’: costumes and connection – but no popcorn throw

Flying popcorn. Screaming customers in fighting. At least one living chicken was reported on the spot. No, this was not a recording of The Jerry Springer Show. This was an average screening of A Minecraft film.

Weeks, reports of pandemonium in screening of A Minecraft film have taken the headlines. News points of sale stopped moral panic, which suggests that children are so badly behaved and are obliged to trends, the film strived for anarchy.

I was skeptical about whether people in the real world would appear for sanctioned chaos, especially since the theater remained about half full for 15 minutes on Preshow advertisements for Legos and phones, but it filled to capacity by the time the film started.

She was the Virgil of my Dante through the nine circles of Minecraft Uncertainty hell, and she didn’t even know until I told her after the screening.

When I spoke with Gloria and her parents, she said she had been a big fan of Minecraft since primary school. Her friends told her about funny moments in the film, so she wanted to see it for herself. She always looked Minecraft Stories on YouTube – original stories of makers that take place in the world of the game – but she doesn’t play as much as before. Yet she wanted to see it bad enough to take her parents.

“I paid for it,” her father intervened. He did not know what 4dx meant the preview for How to train your dragon Almost brought him out of his chair.

During the screening, the dialogue and chatter never laughed much – with the exception of the character of Jennifer Coolidge, whose flirtatious scenes with a villager that escaped in the real world, aroused the audience. Her humor was random, and the more specific her references, the better – for example the mention of her car as a “Jeep Grand Cherokee” received a big reaction.

There were major reactions to physical comedy from Black and Momoa – especially a scene in which they form a “man sandwich” by hanging together while they fly through the air. (“Gay Rights!” Gloria called as an answer.) The crowd roared when Black performed an action scene. He is actually Tom Cruise for the Minecraft generation.

Most of the major reactions that the film moved in his audience were of in-game references. People cheered, as they were encouraged to do, but they also looked at the person with whom they came, whispered and giggled. It promoted the discussion, further jokes and community.

Emily, a 26-year-old who sits in front of me who brought her younger brother and his friends, said Minecraft was a family affair. She no longer plays or doesn’t even think about the game, but she told her brother about it when they were younger. Now he plays with his friends.

A costumed group of friends, accompanied by one of their parents, was forward. Daniel, who is 15, wore a box on his head to portray Steve – the character of Black in the film. He was nervous about the film that met his expectations, but he had heard good things online and was intrigued by the ‘moving seats’. Kelly, who wore a chicken onesie and sat on his left, told me that they wanted to come “before screaming”. Parker, the 12-year-old who is on his right, thought it was great to see the villager depicted on the screen, as well as the Boshuis.

Luciano, an 18-year-old who carries suspenders as a reference to a popular Minecraft Skin, said he plays since he was 5 or 6. He radiated with excitement that the film had realized his expectations. He sat with his friend Jayden, a 17-year-old who wore the block-like green head of a zombie. They both quickly remain silent when an unexpected scene was played after the credits, so that intrigues were set up for a possible follow -up.

On the way in, I spoke with two 19-year-olds who entered the film when Regal Unlimited Pass holders wanted to kill time awaiting a text that their table was ready in another restaurant in the shopping center. Roman and Isaac wander in and out all the time because their pass makes it cheap to do this – there are a monthly subscription costs that covers the costs of tickets, with a small service costs for every display – and they had already seen the second half of the film because they had entered a theater a few days ago. They were cheerful and excited, especially for the 4DX chairs, but had long since disappeared by the time the film ended.

All fans with whom I spoke were enthusiastic about the 4DX element of this display, which the theater turned into a ride from amusement park.

In an early action series in which villain skeleton beings on the back of gigantic spiders drove to prevent the main characters, a small child claimed loudly: “I hit my head.” I did it too. At one point a woman left her chair to sit in the aisle, to stretch and talk to the person next to her in his chair. I was surprised by her courage, but my husband, who came to the show with me, noticed that she was probably a bit seasick.

Some sequences were intense – there were stairs in our seats, abrupt bucking, waving and eruptions of air. Theater owners hope that the tension of the specialized seats could seduce people to come to the theater. I have seen different impressions of action films in 4DX, such as Twisters And Novocaine, But nobody was as ruthless as A Minecraft film. The boring roar of the chatter that I noticed at the beginning of the screening died towards the end, especially of small children, who were probably repressed in submission and physically exhausted. Come and think about it, I haven’t seen many telephones against the end – it is possible that they would have gone.

All in all it was the most intense theatrical experience I have ever had. More than 12 hours later I still have painful to stay in my chair while I take notes.
