Premier League Round-Up: Brighton Grab Late Winner as Palace See from Ipswich

The Premier League saw four games for the two evening games on Saturday.

In the early kick-off, Nottingham Forest took a huge step in the direction of Champions League football by beating Manchester City for a crowded city area.

A second half strike by Callum Hudson-Odoi was enough to pick up the three points and to lift the difficult trees in third place, above their opponents and with a five-point buffer to Chelsea in the fifth.

In Anfield, Liverpool moved 16 points at the top of the table and came from behind to beat Southampton.

Smallbone will be capitalized on a defensive mix between Alisson and Virgil van Dijk to give the saints a shock cable before the break.

But the Reds came out in the second half, and a Quickfire Double between Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah, but the home team ahead.

Salah then took his second from the penalty place late, and marked his 27th goal of the campaign and sealed the victory.

Brighton 2-1 Fulham

Brighton achieved a dramatic 2-1 victory over Fulham at the Amex Stadium, with the 98th minute of Joao Pedro who proved the decisive moment.

The visitors took the lead in the first half by Raul Jimenez, who ended after a brilliant run and cross of Alex Iwobi.

However, the advantage of Fulham was short -lived, because Brighton responded only a few minutes later.

Yasin Ayari delivered an inviting free kick in the box, allowing Jan Paul van Hecke to go home his first goal for the club and leveled the score on 1-1.

Brighton dominated the second half and pushed relentlessly to a winner. They created different opportunities, including a non -author goal for Simon Adingra after a VAR review for offside, and saw Danny Welbeck waste a free header of a Joao Pedro Cross.

While the game stopped, Brighton’s perseverance has paid off. Replacement Harrison drove polluted Pedro in the penalty area in the last moments, so that the referee had no hesitation to point to the place.

Pedro stepped up and sent his penalty past Bernd Leno with confidence, where all three points for the seagulls were protected with almost the last staircase of the game.

Crystal Palace 1-0 Ipswich

Crystal Palace insured their third consecutive Premier League victory with a heavily fought 1-0 win over Ipswich in Selhurst Park.

The late strike of Ismaila Sarr proved the difference in an entertaining collision that saw many opportunities at both ends.

The first half was a lively affair, in which both parties threatened to break the impasse. Palace should have continued within two minutes when Adam Wharton’s precise pass Eddie Nketiah put on goal, but Ipswich goalkeeper Josh Palmer made an excellent rescue.

Ipswich responded immediately, while Jaden Philogene Dean Henderson forced a sharp stop.

The end-to-end action took place when Ebereechi Eze came close, only to be denied by an excellent block from Jacob Greaves.

The visitors had further opportunities, with Liam Delap and Philogene who both came close, but neither of them could find it just before the break.

The second half started with a near-miss from Eze, whose shot bent the post hit.

Ipswich then created various own opportunities, where Delap and Philogene Henderson tested again. On the other hand, Sarr and Matheus Munoz forced Palmer in impressive rescues, while Palace insisted on the breakthrough.

The decisive moment arrived in the 82nd minute. Wharton found Daichi Kamada on the edge of the box and after a deflection of Kalvin Phillips the ball was friendly against Sarr, who produced a delicious chip over Palmer to give Palace the lead.

This result moves the palace to 11th place, after he has won nine of their last 11 games in all competitions.

In the meantime, the struggles of Ipswich continue, because they remain without a competition gain in 2025 and stay in 18th place, five points of safety.
