Arsenal missed the chance to close the gap in the Premier League title race when they fell to a shock 1-0 defeat against West Ham at the Emirates.
Jarrod Bowen thought it was just with a header on the peace of the break and in the end the difference was what turned out to be a frustrating afternoon for the Gunners, who ended the game with 10 men when replacement Myles Lewis-Skelly was sent to down Mohammed Kudus.
Mikel Arteta cut away a despondent figure on the touchline and the ticket of the second half seconds, both the Arsenal boss and fans knowing an opportunity to reduce Liverpool’s lead at the top of the competition to five points.
The defeat gives the side of Arne Slot the opportunity to clearly go 11 points whether they can overcome Manchester City on the Etihad on Sunday.

Beto and Abdoulaye Doucoure saw an exciting encounter in Goodison Park, giving the great first half a lead.
But stunning strikes from Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte after the break save a point in front of Ruben Amorim, despite a late Everton penalty decision that was destroyed by VAR.
Elsewhere a strike by Talisman Matheus Cunha against Bournemouth Wolves gave an essential three points in their bid to survive.
Cunha scored 10 minutes before half-time, only a few moments after the cherry Illia Zabarnyi were rejected for what was considered a reckless challenge on Rayan Ait-Nouri.
The victory releases Wolves five points from the drop zone, while Bournemouth is in the sixth.

Two of the relegation rivals from Wolves suffered heavy defeats. Ipswich fell at home at a loss of 4-1 against Tottenham, while the bottom of Southampton was hit 4-0 by Brighton.
Brennan Johnson took an early brace for Spurs before Omari Hutchinson increased the shortage before peace.
But the second half of the goals of Djed Spence and Dejan Kulusevski took care of the points for the men of Ange Postecoglou.
Joao Pedro, Georginio Rutter, Kaoru Mitoma and Jack Hinshelwood thought it was just before Brighton, who raised to eighth.

The saints are now 14 points of safety and almost certainly look that they play championship football in the next term.
The collision between Fulham and Crystal Palace in Craven Cottage saw the visitors getting away with a 2-0 win.
The Eagles’s own goal by former palace player Joachin Andersen gave the Eagles before Daniel Munoz doubled their advantage shortly after the goal of Jean-Philipe Mateta was excluded from offside.
