Bennett Scheffler. Poppy Mcilroy. Beer burns. Sammy and Sophie Spieth. Cam Homa. Molly Grace Thomas. You may not know their names yet, but you are certainly familiar with their superstar parents.
And on Wednesday at Augusta National it was the next gene’s turn to take over the spotlights. The Masters PAR 3 match of 2025 can even be lucky that comes out of the building on Tuesday, as smiles, laughs, fist pumps and cute, putter-swinging todders who won the day.
The Masters Par 3 match is a beloved National Augusta tradition that started in 1960. Over the years it has turned into a wonderful showcase of the growing families of players. For the older recurring Masters champions, it is an opportunity to visit the course with a grandchild. For contenders in their prime, it is a nice way to relax a little with their children before the tension of the tournament week starts seriously on Thursday.
Augusta National’s PAR 3 course measures up to 1,055 total yards, with holes that play between 70 and 155 meters. The regular caddies of the player are given a break for the Masters PAR 3 match, because women, girlfriends, children, grandchildren and other friends and family members come in the bag instead. One agreement: everyone wears the traditional white Caddy Jumpsuit – which you can also buy!
