Staying healthy has been a tough battle for the Sixers. Joel Embiid played this season in 18 and Paul George in 36 games. The 2024-25 season remains a challenge for George. He has not scored 20+ points since the end of January.

For nine consecutive seasons before he came to the 76 people, Paul George had an average of 21+ points per match. In 36 starts with the Sixers in 2024-25, George is on average (16.2) per match. His (.362) three -point percentage this season is less than his (.384) career percentage. In addition, George’s (13.9) Field target attempts are by far the lowest of his last nine seasons per match. The veteran attacker has struggled with consistency on the Sixers.
During his last 12 games, Paul George did not succeed in scoring 20+ points. The last time he completed that that performance was on January 24 when he scored 30 points versus the Cavaliers. The closest to him since then was 17 points in a loss for the Celtics on Thursday evening. His 17 points led all the sixers in the loss to Boston. All five of the Starters of Philadelphia ended up in scoring double digits, but it was not enough for the victory.
In addition to a large turnaround, the Sixers are probably a lottery team in 2025. After adding Paul George this season, this is not where the Sixers are expected. They gave the 34-year-old 200+ million in a guaranteed contract. Because of 36 games that started, George did not come close to his expectations. Injuries to Paul George and Joel Embiid have kept the Sixers to reach their true potential this season. Together, Gerge and Embiid combined to play in 54 games this season. The Sixers played a total of 55. It is difficult to be successful if your best players are not on the field together.
