The collaboration is the highlight of almost 5 years of joint development between Apple and MP materials, in which they have tested advanced recycling technology to ensure that recycled rare earth magnets meet Apple’s strict performance and design criteria. In order to fulfill the agreement with Apple and in accordance with a recent public-private partnership with the US Department of Defense/DOD, MP materials will expand the capacity of the Worth Magnetics facility Fort with the production lines of Neodymium Magnet that are specifically tailored to Apple products.
