Virgil van Dijk has received a lucrative offer to become a member of Saudi-Arabian side Al-Hilal, according to a report in the French daily L’Equipe.
Liverpool’s captain is without a contract in Anfield at the end of the season and has been free since 1 January to talk to clubs from abroad.
L’Equipe says that Van Dijk is considering the deal of a reported £ 320,000 a week.
The 33-year-old is one of the three important Liverpool players whose contracts end in the summer, alongside Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Alexander-Arnold will probably become a member of Real Madrid on a free transfer, while the future of top scorer Salah remains uncertain.
Van Dijk says he is in the dark
Speaking of his own situation after the elimination of Liverpool’s Champions League through the hands of Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday evening, Van Dijk insisted that he had no idea where he would play next season.
He said to The Times: “I have no idea. I still have no idea at the moment. Really, I have no idea right now.
“It’s not on hold. Nothing on hold. There is just … I keep saying the same.
“Listen, there are still 10 games to go, and that is my full focus. If there is news, you will know. I don’t even know myself. Everyone knows that there are some conversations behind the scenes, but that’s just about it.
“At the moment I don’t even know what will happen next year. If someone says they know, they lie to your face. ‘
