LeBron James has returned to Los Angeles with good progress made on his tense left groy. He made the journey back on the basis of a medical recommendation.
There is now conviction that James may not have to miss no more than two weeks.
That could bring James in position to return just in time for the four-game road trip of the four-game of Lakers from 24 March.
In his age of 40, James is on average a bewildering 25.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 8.5 assists. He also shoots 51.7 percent out of the field, including 38.4 percent from a three -point range.
The Lakers are 0-2 on their current four-game road trip with losses on the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets. James was injured against the Celtics late in the match.
Lakers can breathe a huge sigh of relief
There are many fans who would have had flashbacks to 2018 and James tore his left gel on Christmas Day. James missed 17 games because of that injury. In this case that would have virtually missed the rest of the regular season.
James calmed the nerves when he said that this injury was not so bad, and the potential timeline of a few weeks is great news.
The Lakers have looked like a much improved team since the addition of Luka Doncic and the rankings rose to the injury. The Lakers reach as high as second in the west and will now do well to stick to third place until James’ return.
Award season at stake for James Early Return
James has played this season so far in 58 games, which means that he has to play in at least seven games to be eligible for prizes before the end of the season.
The most likely recognition he could get is an all-nba spot. Given all the injuries that have eliminated candidates such as Doncic, Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis and Victor Wembanyama, James must bring him firmly into the mix.
James made his 21st All-Star performance in February and is now looking for a 21st All-NBA selection.
