Knicks’ Jalen Brunson to miss at least 2 weeks with ankle sprain

Jalen Brunson ankle sprain

New York Knicks Point Guard Jalen Brunson will miss at least two weeks because of a judge single disguise. ESPN’s Shams Charania was the first to report.

Brunson seemed to twist his ankle in the extension of the loss of 113-109 of the Knicks for the Los Angeles Lakers. The New York Superstar was already spectacularly the game and ended with 39 points, four rebounds and 10 assists.

Knicks fans and the organization as a whole will even make the game overtime. New York looked into a late fourth quarter rally through the Lakers.

For the season, Brunson has an average of 26.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 7.4 assists and one handle per match. After playing in 61 games, it would be thought that Brunson still has enough leeway to meet the 65 game threshold that is needed for the end of the season prizes.

The hope of Knicks to catch Celtics?

New York is said to have received some hope to catch Boston for the two-seed and home field advantage in a potential second round collision. This extensive absence for Brunson certainly puts a dent in that.

The Knicks are 4.5 games behind the Celtics for the second seed and will now be better served to hold the third seed. The Milwaukee Bucks are 3.5 games behind New York and have won eight of their last nine games.

Currently, the Knicks have a five-game West Coast Road Trip and the Knicks have a fairly favorable schedule to lean on after the road trip. Miami did not look good after the Jimmy Butler trade, while San Antonio is in poor condition after Victor Wembanyama was excluded for the season. The Charlotte Hornets refuel, just like the Washington Wizards.

This is followed by a matchup on 25 March against a Dallas Mavericks team now without Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis, Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively II. You would imagine that Brunson may even focus on that match as a return date to play against his former team.

Who comes in for Brunson?

Expect that New York will lean on Cameron Payne and Miles McBride in the absence of their leader. One would certainly expect a green light for McBride for the near future.

Delon Wright has not seen the floor since February 21, but perhaps this offers an opportunity for him to make an impact.

It is a big hole to fill offensive. Karl-Anthony Towns is expected to wear even more of the load, while Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby will also see a significant increase in touches.
