With the second choice in the NBA design of 2019, the Grizzlies selected Ja Morant from Murray State. Morant won Rookie of the year in 2019-2020 and soon became a star in the competition. By his third season, Morant was an all-star and it was on average (27.4) points per match. During the 2022-23 season, Morant came out of the field some problems. As a result, he was suspended for the first 25 games of the 2023-24 season.
The 25-year-old played only nine games for the Grizzlies last season. He missed 25 for the suspension and another 48 due to an injury. He needed seasonal shoulder surgery. To ensure that their All-Star PG is healthy in 2025-25, the Grizzlies Morant used sparingly. For his career, Morant on average (31.8) minutes per match.
In 2024-25 he will be on average (28.8) minutes per match, it is the first time in his career that he will not play 30+ minutes per game. Memphis wants Ja Morant healthy for the late season. They still have 28 games in the regular season and his second in the West. For his career, Morant Middelst (27.3) points per game in the play -offs. After Luka Doncic was traded this season, it is hard to believe that every player is safe. Zach Kleiman, however, came out and said that the team does not intend to trade Morant.
