Ex-NBA Lottery Pick Noah Vonleh is against his former sports agency on a “malignant intimidation, defamation and extortion campaign”, the legal team of the organization told TMZ Sports on Monday.
Noah Vonleh claims that the Shanghai sharks of the Chinese basketball association, Pensack Sports Agency did not pay him
In the past, Vonleh, 29, has called the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association and the Pensack Sports Agency in the past and claimed that the team and his representatives hid him from money he owed.
The 6-foot-10 Vonleh also posted a video on his social media page, in an attempt to show abuse by the sharks after his contract was terminated in February 2024.
According to the agency, however, Vonleh is the one who owes $ 235,000 after Pensack Sports has won an Arbitrageval against him for unpaid agent costs.
‘Mr. Vonleh did not appeal to the decision after he had lost and still had to pay the amount due, ”said lawyer Mitch Schuster TMZ Sports during an exclusive interview.
“Since the ruling, in an attempt to prevent his financial obligation, Mr Vonleh has dealt with a malicious intimidation, slander and extortion campaign in which he clearly made false accusations against Pensack Sports.”
Schuster says that Vonleh has paid social media aggregators to manufacture stories for the former NBA player
In addition, Schuster told the media outlet that Vonleh has paid social media aggregators to promote his side of the story, but those messages were later removed due to false information.
Schuster also says that the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) has contacted to help Vonleh, but the former NBA player refused to cooperate.
The federal court will now hear the case, and Pensack Sports expects to receive the money that the agency owes on the basis of the arbitration price that it won against Vonleh.
“Despite the constant intimidation, defamation and extortion that Mr Vonleh has focused on my customer, Pensack Sports remains dedicated to resolve this issue through the correct legal channels,” Schuster added.
Vonleh was selected by Charlotte Hornets No. 9 in the 2014 NBA design of Indiana University. He also played for the Portland Trail Blazers, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets, Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics.
