Ange Postecoglou believes that Europa League Glory Tottenham will change as a club – but the Australian does not know if he will be in charge when Spurs will participate in the Champions League next season.
The winner of Brennan Johnson against Manchester United in the final in Bilbao gave Tottenham their first trophy in more than 17 years and a place in the Champions League despite a terrible domestic season that has resulted in persistent control of the position of Postecoglou.
“That decision is not in my hands,” Postecoglou told TNT Sports, adding that the uncertainty about his position “has no influence on me”.
“There is no reason why they cannot start next year to believe that they can win another trophy. Whatever happens. I don’t feel that I have already completed the job.”

Tottenham vs Man United: ‘I know what it means’
Postecoglou will feel a considerable level of justification after supervising the team directly above the relegation zone in the top flight back in the competition with Europe’s Elite, making his promise to continue his tendency to win silverware in his second season with clubs.
“I was not afraid to explain my intention,” he explained. “People reminded me because there was another chance, so I felt at ease.
“The great clubs expect success because they have had it. We are still building this team – it is very young and we have to add experience. My thinking process this year has been to build a team that can have been successful for five or six years.
“I still try to take everything. I know what it means for this football club. I know that our competition form is terrible – nowhere almost good enough and unacceptable.
“But the end of third would not change this football club. The only thing that this football club would change is winning something.”
Trophies of Tottenham: Postecoglou on drought
Tottenham won the inaugural edition of the Europa League known as the UEFA Cup until 2009-with a 3-2 aggregated victory against Wolves in the 1972 final and triumphed in 1984, where Anderlecht was beaten on penalties after both legs ended 1-1.
Their last trophy was the EFL Cup 2007/08 under Juande Ramos, with Postecoglou the eighth permanent manager who has since been installed.
“The longer it goes, the harder it is to break that cycle,” said Postecoglou. “Until you take that monkey off your back, you don’t understand how it feels.”
Spurs play their last game of the season at home on Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Sunday (16:00 BST).
