Matheus Cunha has made no secret of his ambition for the future and admits: “I have to take that next step.”
The Wolves Forward is expected to be a hot commodity in the coming transfer window, with various Premier League clubs that are happy to secure his services.
A controversial movement can be on the horizon, given the interest that surrounds him.
Arsenal belongs to the clubs that keep a close eye on Cunha’s situation, while the gunners try to strengthen their attacking options after long -term injuries to Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.
In the meantime, Nottingham Forest is also in the mix and it is believed that they prepare a record-breaking offer if they secure the Champions League qualification. The club informed Cunha earlier in January, but Wolves remained determined in their position that he was not for sale.
Despite the signing of a contract extension to ward off veagons, Cunha has now made it clear that he is open to a move. Speaking with The Guardian, he shared his thoughts about his career development.
“I made it clear that I have to take the next step, I want to fight for titles” 👀

“I had many offers, but I wouldn’t feel good if I had done it,” said Cunha. “Some things you can’t control, but I couldn’t leave the club in the middle of the season, in a difficult situation, in the relegation zone.
“Now we are almost achieving our goal [of staying up]. But I made it clear that I have to take the next step.
“I want to fight for titles, for big things. I have potential.”
Despite his desire to continue, the Brazilian expressed deep gratitude for the support he received since he came to Wolves from Atletico Madrid in January 2023.
“Sometimes everything we want in life is,” he said. “People think we have everything, but we are also people. We need a little understanding – we have our difficulties.
‘Wolves gave me that joy back. The fans [have given] me a lot.
“The status that I have today, the player I am now and the luck I feel, it is because of them. I am very grateful to Wolves.”
Now that the summer transfer window is rapidly approaching, Cunha appears to continue looking for silverware and a new challenge.
