Day one of the Cheltenham festival came to a typical explosive start with impressive victories for Kopek des Bordes and Lossemouth and a dramatic champion nuisance that Urders Constitution Hill and State Man.
After a short turnaround, the protagonists return for day two, or style Wednesday as it is now known. Earlier Ladies Day it has arrived again to be more inclusive.
Racing the day is led by the function race, the Queen Mother Champion Chase at 1600 in which Jonbon is the star.
Card
1.20 – Turners Novices’ Hurdle
A 1 competition that has been dominated since 2014 by Irish trainers with 10 wins.
That can be 11 with the last question from Willie Mullins, the favorite on 6/4.
2.00 – Brown consultants’ chase
It is easy to see why Mullins has dominated the festival in recent years, because he also arranged the top-two horses in this training in this Ballyburn and Dancing City.
2.40 – Coral Cup
It is Mullins again who will be the favorite in this race with Bunting Cary. However, the Coral Cup is known for its volatility, so it is better to view any way to view bets. Jipcot on 25/1 looks well priced.
3.20 – Cross Country Chase
An unusual race that goes over another job before he participates in the main job for the last phases. Mr. Coffey must go well on 15/2.
4.00 – Queen Mother Champion Chase
Step ahead Nicky Henderson and Jonbon.
One of the best pursuers of his generation, Jonbon has rarely performed at Cheltenham and a profit from Festival is everything that is missing in his resume.
If you are looking for value, try Quilixios around 28/1.
4.40 – Large annual Handicap Chase
Harry Skelton proves the favorite – unexpected party – in this.
The King of PRS is a sneaky gamble around 9/1.
5.20 – Champion Bumper
The only race at the festival with no obstacles, it is a competition for young horses that are not yet ready for jumps.
Weather
There can first be some blackout showers, but that will decrease and it will be a dry but cold day.
