Rocket MortGage Fieldhouse, the old arena of the Cleveland Cavaliers of the NBA, AHL’s Cleveland Monsters and a leading location for national and international tours, is Rebranding to Rocket Arena.
Rocket Arena is the fourth name change for the location
According to the official press release from the Cavaliers, the change corresponds to the brand recovery of rocket companies for name rights, which has united his mortgage, real estate and personal financial companies under the name “Rocket”.
Rocket Companies was founded in 1985 as the first of the ‘family of companies’ of Dan Gilbert and has since become one of the most famous names in housing and finances.
The rocket companies based in Detroit include mortgage, real estate and personal financing companies: Rocket MortGage, Rocket Homes, Rocket Close, Rocket Money and Rocket Loans.

In addition, Rocket’s new branding combines the modern design with deep community ties to celebrate the 30 -year anniversary season of the location. The name change brings the arena into a new era and strengthens its role as a hub for culture and connection.

Rocket Arena opened its doors as Gund Arena for the first time on October 17, 1994. The Downtown Cleveland Arena is the home base of the 2016 NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers and 2016 AHL champion Cleveland Monsters.
Since the establishment of the Arena, the location has organized more than 5,000 events, including five NBA finals, two NBA All-Star Games, a Records setting 2024 NCAA Women’s Final Four and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies.
After Gilbert De Cavaliers had acquired in 2005, the Arena was renamed Quicken Loans Arena. In 2019, the Arena underwent a transformation of $ 185 million and renamed Rocket MortGage Fieldhouse.
Of course Gilbert received a Lifetime Achievement Award during the annual Greater Cleveland Sports Awards of this month, held in the Arena.
Rocket Arena is celebrating its new identity with in-game activations in upcoming Cavaliers and Samples games.
