UK Wine Retailer Majestic has concluded an agreement to acquire the local distributor Enotria & Coe.
The financial conditions of the deal were not announced.
The purchase will ‘accelerate’ the goal of Majestic to become the leading supplier of wines, beers and spirits, “said it.
In a statement, Majestic said that it also expected the acquisition “value, choice and service for his on-trade partners”.
Founded in 1972, specialized distributor Enotria & Coe has a portfolio of more than 300 wine producers and more than 1500 drinks distillers. It serves on trade, off-trade and DTC channels, with its customers, including specialized bars, hotels, retailers and fine eateries in the United Kingdom.
Because of the deal, Majestic said that it “had identified considerable potential” to build Enotria & Coe “in addition to” the awkward supplier branch Majestic Commercial.
Majestic CEO John Colley said that Enotria & Coe “was a company with which we competed and admired for a long time, with a quality proposition and cultural values that are very close to what we already do at Majestic”.
He added: “We believe that this is a compelling strategic combination and can see enormous potential to further improve the proposition and profitability of Enotria as part of the majestic group.”
Both companies will continue to run “as independent companies” after the transaction.

Majestic, bought by the American Investor Fortress Investment Group in 2019, runs 212 stores in the UK and Jersey, after he has opened 22 new points of sale since it was taken over.
It wants to increase the size of his portfolio and majestic commercial division by 2030.
