After contrasting experiences in the quarter -finals of the FA Cup, Brighton & Hove Albion and Aston Villa meet on Wednesday at the Amex Stadium in a potentially crucial competition for the ambitions of both parties to be eligible for European competition next season.

Seventh placed Brighton would take up a historic fourth consecutive home win and get up as high as fourth with a victory, while Villa has two points behind him and could move a level with the fifth placed Manchester City.
“They perform very, very well,” said Villans manager Unai Emery about Brighton and described Hurzeler as “fantastic” during his time in Germany with former Club St. Pauli.
“Our test is a huge one [one] – To show how we can face them and impose or dominate a team in very good form.
“There are many teams fighting for this [European qualification] positions. It is amazing how we are confronted in the last part of the season. “
