Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, has suggested that La Liga is trying to ‘destabilize’ the club after the Catalans were accused of not complying with the rules for financial fair play.
This morning, the administrative body released a statement that Barca’s salary limit was reduced after a income flow – the sale of € 100 million from VIP chairs at the renovated Camp Nou – was discounted from their last accounts.
La Liga said the transaction was previously recorded, so that the club Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor could register for the second half of the season.
Angry Laporta is picking up
Laporta says that Barcelona will prepare an official answer when the club’s lawyers have thoroughly examined the case, but he was visibly angry when he was asked about it prior to the Copa del Rey Semi-final of the team, second stage against Atletico Madrid tonight.

The 62-year-old told El Mundo Deportivo: “Sometimes I have the feeling that this is no coincidence. Today we play a final in Madrid against Atlético, of which I hope it will be a great show. That they will come out and activate controversy of this type is not an attempt to destabilize our team.
“Sometimes I feel that what they cannot win on the field that they are trying to win in the offices and as President of Barça I cannot allow this. I will continue to defend the interests of our club, to defend our members and fans.
“The club will respond as soon as the legal services have thoroughly analyzed the letter from La Liga. We will respond in the most powerful way in the defense of the interests of FC Barcelona.”
Final decision on DUO expects next week
The Higher Sports Council (CSD) granted a temporary license for Olmo and Victor to keep playing, but they will announce their final decision on 7 April.
Laporta is convinced that the couple can participate in the remaining games of Barca and said: “Three months ago I already said that the registrations of Olmo and Pau Víctor were correctly done and that we had met each of the requirements required by the RFEFE [Spanish FA] And through La Liga. And this is still the case. “
Barca are three points clearly at the top of the Spanish top flight with nine games.
They will be confronted tonight with Atletico in the Metropolitano after a pulsating 4-4 draw in the first stage in Catalonia on 25 February.
Olmo is injured and will not perform, but Pau Víctor was admitted to the team.
