Another all-American has left UCLA's mid-season

UCLA is suddenly a different all-American.

Senior Caroline Canales is no longer with the team that follows the spring opener of the Bruins earlier this month, UCLA head coach Alicia Um Holmes Wednesday confirmed.

Although UCLA still had to officially announce the departure, the schedule of the team no longer includes Canales, which is the second brown that leaves the mid -season. Colleague Senior Zoe Campos became Pro to compete in the last qualifying phase of LPGA Q-Series last December, although she missed the cut and will compete this year on the Epson Tour. Canales also qualified for the Q-series final, but chose to stay amateur and return to school, postpone her Epson status until the summer.

Canales are expected to remain amateur by at least the Augusta National Women’s amateur in April and can play Epson as an amateur in the meantime.

UCLA progressed to the NCAA final last season, but is currently number 31 in the country after a T-11 finish at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge. Canales, arranged no. 100 individual and no. 63 in the amateur ranking, T-21 ended to lead the Bruins that week.

Last season Canales placed four top 10s and hit her NCAA championship by going 3-0 in match game.
