Houston Rockets Forward Amen Thompson requires an MRI after the injury of his left only against the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday evening. Kelly Iko from the Athletic reported the update.
In the fourth quarter Thompson rode and withdrew for a jumper when he landed Karlo Matkovic on the foot of the Pelican Center. He ended the game with 15 points, nine rebounds and 11 assists. The rockets won 146-117 and improved to 39-25 of the season.
There can be some frustration because Thompson continued to look for a 10th rebound in the eruption. The 22-year-old was spotted and left the Arena on crutches and in a running boot after the victory.

Thompson is in the middle of a breakout campaign and would be very missed if he will miss the longer time. In the season he is an average of 16.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.6 blocks as a starter. He also shot 55.5 percent.
Just as the standard practice has become since the establishment of 65 game rule, Thompson’s are eligible for end-use prizes possible at stake that has played 60 games so far. He would be an important candidate for an NBA all-defensive team.
Rockets go on Smith Jr.
No matter how long Thompson has been excluded, expects Jabari Smith Jr. The starting line-up comes in again. The talented attacker missed six weeks of action between January and February because of a broken hand. He was a starter until that moment.
Since the return to action, Smith has an average of 10.9 points and 7.0 rebounds in 30 minutes per match.
As a team with a lot of depth, Houston will also look more for more of people like Tari Eason, Cam Whitmore and maybe Jae’San Tate.
Rockets Outlook Without Thompson
Houston is actually in the middle of a lighter piece of his schedule. The Pelican competition was the first of a six-game homing class and all five remaining teams are among them in the rankings. This is followed by a road trip in Florida to play the Orlando Magic and Miami Heat, two teams that are struggling.
This is followed by a tough match against the Denver Nuggets on March 23, but the Atlanta Hawks (30-34) and Utah Jazz (15-48) are then the two opponents.
It will be easier to estimate the potential impact of the injury as soon as a timeline on the absence of Thompson has been unveiled.
